1. New South China Mall :

New South China Mall in Dongguan, China is the largest shopping mall in the world based on gross lea sable area, and ranked second in total area to The Dubai Mall (which has extensive non-shopping space including a zoo, a hotel complex and a theme park). South China Mall opened in 2005 and for over 10 years it had been mostly vacant as very few merchants have ever signed up, leading it to be dubbed a dead mall. In 2015 one CNN story reported that the mall had attracted some tenants after extensive renovations and remodeling of the facility, though large portions remain vacant.

2. Golden Resources Shopping Mall :

Golden Resources Shopping Mall is a shopping mall located near the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. It is right beside Line 10’s Changchunqiao Station of the Beijing Subway.

In English, the mall has earned the nickname “Great Mall of China”, owing to its total area of 560,000 square meters (6 million square feet) over six floors. At 1.5 times the size of the Mall of America, Golden Resources Mall was the world’s largest shopping mall from 2004 to 2005.

3. SM City North EDSA :

SM City North EDSA is a shopping mall located at the intersection of North Avenue and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Quezon City, Philippines. It is the largest shopping mall in the Philippines and the third in the world.

The mall is operated by SM Prime Holdings, opened on November 8, 1985. The SM City North EDSA was constructed at a challenging period in the Philippines’ political history with a gross floor area of 120,000 square meters in 1985. The mall’s redevelopment began with the opening of The Block in July 2006. Among the developments were a new Annex building which opened in December 2008, and Sky garden which opened in May 2009. The Car Park Plaza transformed into a lifestyle center in 2009. SM City North EDSA, a work in progress with the renovation of the City Center, and the development of the North Link.

As of December 2015, SM City North EDSA surpassed SM Megamall, which was the largest from 2014, as the largest shopping mall in the country. SM City North EDSA is also named as the largest solar-powered shopping mall in Southeast Asia for the installation of 5,760 solar panels.

4. SM Megamall :

SM Megamall is a shopping mall located in the Ortigas business district of Metro Manila, Philippines. The mall was developed and is operated by SM Prime Holdings. The mall complex comprises two buildings connected by a bridge, and occupies a land area of approximately 10 hectares, with a total floor area of 506,435 square metres (5,451,220 sq ft), making it the second-largest shopping mall in the country and the fourth-largest in the world. The mall has a maximum capacity of 4 million people.

5. Isfahan City Center :

Isfahan City Center is a large commercial and entertainment complex in Isfahan, Iran. It is the largest shopping mall in Iran and one of the largest shopping malls containing a museum in the world. Built in four phases, the Center covers approximately 465,500 square meters (5,011,000 sq ft) and includes a 5 star hotel, a general shopping mall with more than 750 retail outlets, a museum, a hypermarket, restaurants, airline offices, an international financial center (IFC) and a World trade center (WTC), and an entertainment center with seven cinema screens and a fair complex. The mall is developed by Prestige Land Iran Co. and was designed by the architect Medardo Cadiz of Cadiz International, Inc.

6. 1 Utama :

1 Utama Shopping Centre is situated in Bandar Utama Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Its gross built-up area totals 5,000,000 square feet (465,000 m²). It is the largest shopping mall in Malaysia and the sixth largest in the world.

Following the expiration of the management contract of Phase 1, AEON closed its One Utama outlet for six months before re-opening while Bandar Utama, owner of 1 Utama takes over the management for Phase 1.

1 Utama was named “Shopping Complex of the Year” at the Retail World Excellence Awards 2006/07. In 2006, 1 First Avenue, a 30-storey corporate office tower (occupied by IBM, Schlumberger and KPMG) was completed and the 428-room 5-star One World Hotel attached to the mall opened the following year.

7. Persian Gulf Complex :

Persian Gulf Complex is a large shopping mall located in Shiraz, Iran. It is the biggest mall in terms of the number of shops. The facility has space for 2,500 stores covering 450,000 square meters (4,800,000 sq ft).

The complex includes the Burj Fars International, a 262-room hotel, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, convention centre and a helipad. In addition, there are two amusement parks at the mall, an outdoor amusement park called Iran Land, covering 37,000 square metres (400,000 sq ft), and an indoor amusement park covering 28,000 square metres (300,000 sq ft)with video games, a bowling alley and a 3-story billiard hall. The mall also has six 240-seat cinema. A 14,000-square-metre (150,000 sq ft) Carrefour Hypermarket is also located within the mall. The complex has four floors of parking space that can accommodate a total of 5,500 vehicles. This project is owned by Mr. Hossain Hossaini. His father is from Ras al-Khaimah (UAE) and his mother is from Iran.

8. SM Seaside City Cebu :

SM Seaside City Cebu also called locally as SM South Road Properties or SM SRP, is a shopping mall owned and developed by SM Prime Holdings located in Cebu City, Philippines that opened on 27 November 2015, is the SM Prime Holdings’ third mall in Metro Cebu. It is the centerpiece of the SM Seaside Complex, a 30-hectare mixed-use development at the South Road Properties.

It is currently the 3rd largest shopping mall in the Philippines and the 8th in the world. The mall has a gross leasable area (GLA) of 470,000 square meters. SM Seaside City Cebu is SM Prime Holdings’ third mall in Metro Cebu and the 55th mall in the Philippines. The mall is designed by Arquitectonica, the same company which designed SM City North EDSA, SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall.

9. Central World :

Central World is a shopping plaza and complex in Bangkok, Thailand.[5] It is the sixth largest shopping complex in the world. The complex, which includes a hotel and office tower, is owned by Central Pattana. In 2006, after three years of design and renovation, Central World was expanded to 550,000 square meters of shopping mall and 1,024,000 square meters of complex, topping nearby rival Siam Paragon in terms of size.

On 19 May 2010, Central World was one of the many properties set on fire when the Red Shirts anti-government protesters were forcibly removed after months of demonstrations which included complete blockage of the Rachaprasong shopping district. The parts of the complex most affected were the Zen department store and its adjacent annex.

A portion of the shopping complex reopened on 28 September 2010 after months of repair work.
